Matthew M. Harris is a Provost's Postdoctoral Fellow of Religions of the Americas at the University of Chicago Divinity School. His research is located at the intersections of African American religious history, the Black Radical Tradition, and the politics of culture. His current research project uses the archive around the avant-garde jazz composer and poet Sun Ra to recover the migration-era traffic in metaphysical religion in Chicago.
